American Library Association Program

Funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities to the American Library Association Public Programs Office made it possible for thirty public and university libraries to receive grants of $2,500 to support five reading, viewing, and discussion programs in conjunction with local scholars. The programs feature the PBS American Masters documentary and the Holt/Picador publication Louisa May Alcott: The Woman Behind Little Women. Some eighty libraries submitted proposals. The programs began in the spring of 2011 and will continue through the spring of 2012.
